I truly love being able to go to a client's home to capture their newborn photos. It makes things so much simpler for mom (who has barely slept in days) and baby (who is adjusting to this new, big world). What I love most is the opportunity to grab lifestyle shots of the family in their own element. Those first few days home are such a blur for everyone and those types of candid moments become so precious. Jack was just 5 days old here for his newborn session. He decided that he was not sleepy the instant I arrived.
I took that as an opportunity to get shots of him being rocked by his mama in his nursery and then some time nurse him to sleep while I got blankets and baskets set up in the dining room, which served as my studio for the morning. I'm in the midst of moving from North Carolina back to my hometown of Atlanta. Jack's mom inquired about a session somewhat last minute and I had already moved my newborn props to Atlanta. I liked the idea of a mental break from all the moving, so It was sweet of my friend Jennifer of Jennifer Chaput Photography to loan me some of her adorable items so I could capture these images for Jack's parents. Its such a blessing to be a part of the photography community!
